(miComunidad.com) MIDDLE EAST.- Global prayer movement accredited for the massive revival among Muslims. Christians from various parts of the world will join in prayer to impact the Islamic world. A worldwide prayer movement will have its 25 edition this year and once again it will have an important role in what it is about importing with Muslims. The organizers expect a record participation.
Hundreds of thousands of Christians are going to pray during the 25º "30 Days of Prayer for the Muslim World" that is celebrated every year.
In 2018, the event will be held from 15 from May to 14 in June, to coincide with the Islamic holy month, Ramadan.
The initiative was launched to increase awareness and involvement in the efforts to reach the goal of 1.500 millions of Muslims in the world. The organizers believe that in this period of prayer more followers of Islam have turned to Christ than at any other time of the year.
Organized to coincide with Ramadan, one of the high points of the Muslim calendar - a time when many Muslims seek to know more about their god - the event "30 Days of Prayer for the Muslim World" offers a daily prayer guide that highlights different aspects of Islam and Muslims.
The prayer guide is available in a few 30 languages. More than 1,5 million copies in English and Spanish were distributed in North America over the years by the World Christian resource center, whose director, Paul Filidis, is the North American coordinator of the initiative.
He says: "While the media talks about Islamic extremism and easily incites rage, fear and even hatred against Muslims, we try to resist this temptation to generalize and, instead, resolve to pray with the mind and the heart of Christ, "said Filidis.
In this year's edition, the editors note that since the initiative began, there has been an increase in Islamic extremism, as well as an increase in "devastating natural disasters and relentless wars in Muslim communities around the world." However, the same period "also saw the greatest number of Muslim movements for Christ in history."
