(myCommunity.com) Gog, Magog, Russia, Syria and biblical end times. Since Jesus began his ministry on Earth two thousand years ago, the church is debating questions about the "end of time." One of the deepest authors of this topic at present is the American Joel Rosenberg, of 51 years, who has 15 books in the curriculum that together already sold more than 5 million copies. He is one of those responsible for the growing perception of how Islam fits into the prophetic scenario, something that for centuries has been ignored by theologians.

Rosenberg trained at the University of Tel Aviv, in Israel, and at the Syracuse School in the United States. In addition to theological training, he specialized in the Middle East and has frequently discussed in his texts how some biblical prophecies are being fulfilled in our day.

In his new book, The Kremlin Conspiracy, he seeks to show Russia's role in this scenario, along with its main political allies at the moment: Turkey and Iran.

During a recent appearance in the Christian program Pure Talk, he revealed why he believes that humanity entered "technically" in the last days, given the moment when international relations and military alliances draw the picture described by the prophet Ezekiel when he spoke about the war of Gog and Magog.

Although Rosenberg recalls that it is not prudent to define a date for events, he argued that there are many signs indicating that humanity is seeing many signs of the fulfillment of biblical prophecy.

"I do not know when it will be, but if you look at all the prophecies ... We have great global chaos. More Christians were massacred in the last century than at any other time in human history. All this is significant, "he says.

For the scholar, the rebirth of Israel in 1948, concretized one of the "main prophecies" in the Old Testament. He believes that we are living what the text of Ezekiel 36-39 foresaw, with the intent to exterminate the Jews in the Holocaust, the resurrection of the Jewish state after almost two thousand years, ceasing to be named among the nations. The next event, considering the chronological order of the revelations, would be the invasion of Israel in the war of Gog and Magog.

Rosenberg says he is convinced that this will be led by Russia. He offered an interpretation of events in light of what is happening in the world now. "A leader of Russia will form an alliance with Iran, Turkey and some other countries to surround and attack Israel in recent days," he says, although he does not want to say that this will happen with the current leaders of those nations.

However, the theologian believes that Russia's activities in Syria and its relations with other countries that oppose Israel, such as Iran and North Korea can not be ignored. "I just know that what we have today is not good," he said. "Vladimir Putin is more dangerous than radical Islamism, although most people [in the United States] do not realize it," he insists.

Remember that there are military treaties signed by Russia and Turkey with several countries in Africa, which are in the regions cited by the prophecy. The verse of Ezekiel 38: 5 says "Persia, Cush and Fut with them; all of them with shield and helmet ". They would be the current Iran, Sudan and Libya respectively. With all this this relationship is already formalized.

Regardless of what happens, Rosenberg said it is essential that Christians pray for peace in Jerusalem. He also encouraged Christians to intercede and, when possible, help provide humanitarian aid to those affected by the carnage that is currently taking place against Christian minorities in much of the Middle East.
