(myCommunity.com) Marriage should be an environment in which growth is actively encouraged. This is very important in terms of spiritual health. Wives should seek to help their husbands grow in Christ, and vice versa. But how do we achieve it? Well, JB Cachila of the Christian Today newspaper highlights three things that wives can do to help their husbands get along in faith.
1. Speak kindly to your husband
"In a world full of corrupted and negative talks, husbands seek peace when they arrive home from work. Most of the time, however, complaining spouses only make their husbands want to be more out of the house and only get home to sleep. Proverbs 21: 19 says 'It is better to dwell in a desert land than with a quarrelsome and angry woman.' and this word is very true "
When we have grace with one another, love, kindness and hope increase.
2. Treat it in a way that glorifies God
"Women can earn their husbands for Christ and help them grow in faith through change in them. Pedro says it clearly in 1 Pedro 3: 1-2 that says "
"You women, be subject to your husbands; so that also those who do not believe the word, are won without a word for the conduct of their wives, considering your behavior chaste and respectful. "
When we treat someone well, we put them in the position of having to do the same, and we encourage them to do so. Mutual affection in the couple should be the center of all healthy marriage.
3. Pray for him constantly
Prayer is a fundamental element of the Christian life, not only in marriage. The spouses will face trials and temptations, and they must be covered with our prayers. Surrender to prayer for your spouse on a daily basis, even if you are angry with him or do not feel like doing it. You will see a noticeable change in both you and the while you do it!
